# Bonds created in year cross epoch's can lead to lost payouts

Olas Tokenomics counts next-year inflation in effectiveBond, but OLAS.mint silently skips minting past the yearly cap, so bond depositors and owners lose payouts.

**Target:** Tokenomics.sol checkpoint/reserveAmountForBondProgram and OLAS.sol mint
**Root cause:** effectiveBond is credited with the full epoch inflation at checkpoint, including Olas only mintable in the next year; OLAS.mint silently no-ops when inflationControl fails instead of reverting.
**Steps:**
1. Set state near year 10 end with all prior epoch Olas minted.
2. Start a 2-month epoch spanning year 10 and year 11.
3. checkpoint() sets effectiveBond = (y10m1 + y11m1)/2, exceeding what is mintable in year 10.
4. Create a bond with supply == effectiveBond and deposit.
5. Treasury mint for the bond silently skips amounts beyond year-10 cap; depositor/owner redeem or claim yields no Olas.
**How found:** Code reading of checkpoint() crediting effectiveBond with full epoch inflation versus OLAS.mint's silent inflationControl no-op, reasoning about epochs crossing year boundaries after year 9.
**Exploitation:** A bond program is created sized to effectiveBond that includes next-year inflation; deposits succeed but the treasury mint silently fails for the over-cap portion, so depositors and agent/component owners claiming within year 10 receive nothing.
**Insight:** When a mint function silently no-ops on a cap check instead of reverting, any accounting variable that pre-credits future-cap supply (like effectiveBond) can over-promise; audit year/period-boundary crossings where budget is credited before it is mintable.
